The importance of Mindset is something that I have been asked about recently, and I think it is such an important subject, that I would like to address it in detail here in this article.

Mindset isn’t just something you need to be successful with online business. It isn’t just the foundation upon which Attraction Marketing is built.

Your Mindset, your BELIEF, truly determines your reality. Now before you dismiss this as hocus-pocus or froo-froo woo-woo, let me explain in detail.

Let’s start off with a parable:

In a small, quiet town, there lived two young boys, the Optimist and the Pessimist. The Pessimist was put in a room full of presents, and toys, and trains, and cake. But he sat there, miserable…the toys weren’t the top-of-the-line most expensive versions, the presents would take too much effort to unwrap, the cake probably wouldn’t taste good. So the Pessimist just sat there, arms crossed with a sour expression on his face, and did nothing.

The Optimist was put in a stable filled with huge mounds of shyte, and he happily grabbed a shovel and began digging through it, with a glad cry of, ‘With all this horse-poop piled up, there’s got to be a pony in here somewhere!’

Thee Pessimist was GIVEN everything a young boy could want, but was still unhappy because of his mindset. The Optimist was given nothing, but made the best of the situation.

Because of their mindsets, one of them lives a happy life, and one is perpetually miserable, and worse, shares his unhappiness with those lifeforms that he comes into contact with.

Your attitude, mindset, belief, whatever you want to call it…it radiates from you in an almost-tangible aura. When you have a good, positive mindset like the Optimist, the problems that life throws at you will seem so small and insignificant, and you will easily overcome them. When you focus on the positive, you will always be happy, and it will spread to those around you.

I have always tried my best to maintain a powerful, positive mindset, and because of that I have always found that I can overcome any obstacle before me, or achieve any objective. I had my first job as an executive at the young age of 21! How? I walked into the interview radiating confidence, resourcefulness, and honesty. I was made the Director of Telecommunications for a utility company, at an age where most young men spend the majority of their time consuming alcohol and subsequently regurgitating it!

Not only will your mindset have direct tangible effects on your own happiness and ability to achieve your goals, but you will find that the universe itself responds to you. It is one of the fundamental Laws of Attraction that ‘As a man thinketh, so shall he attract to himself’. If you have strong and positive thoughts, you will attract wealth, success, and like-minded individuals. Sound like BS? Ask ANY self-made wealthy entrepreneur, and they will tell you otherwise!

So what does all this have to do with online business, and success in general? A lot of would-be entrepreneurs think, ‘Oh, well, I’ll have that kind of unstoppable mindset once I am successful!’

WRONG ANSWER! That is putting the cart before the horse…if you want to achieve success with your internet business, your career, your family life, etc, you have to START with the winning mindset! Get your head where it needs to be, fill your mind with positive thoughts, and expect, no DEMAND, that the world give you what you are due, and accept nothing less! Never plan to fail, or fail to plan, to achieve your goals, and you will see each one come to fruition.

This is why I have no patience, or desire to associate with, negative people. The one thing that anyone, regardless of situation, can control, is their attitude. You can’t always control what happens in life, but you CAN control how you respond to it. I don’t work with people who whine about the hand they are dealt, or who are negative, pessimistic, or don’t believe in themselves.

Not only is it frustrating and unpleasant to associate with people like that, but it can harm your own mindset as well. Negativity spreads like a virulent plague, so the best thing is to avoid it entirely.
