When you ask someone to tell you what they want from life, often you will elicit one of two polar responses.

(1) Their eyes will light up as they go into great detail telling you all about what they dream of being having and doing. Or (2) they will cast their eyes to the ground as if they are watching the last remnants of a hopeless dream disappearing without a trace, having given up without even trying.

Interesting, don’t you think?
All of which brings me to the topic for today’s article, creating a BURNING DESIRE for what you want.

There are some very simple techniques for creating such a desire, some of which you may be familiar with, others less so;

Visualization.
Think about what you want, make a really clear picture of everything you want, and hold it in your mind. Keep it there. Treat the image like a mental background, so that it will not prevent you from performing those daily tasks that we each must do, but all the while it is there, you carry it with you wherever you go. And when you have some quiet time, bring to the front of your consciousness, really embrace everything about it.

Live your dreams.
This is my personal favourite. Think about what it will be like when you have everything you want. Wherever possible, make it real. A good friend of mine told me she wanted to start her own business and have a new Mercedes, my response to this was to make her an appointment to take a look around a vacant office which she always liked the look of, and as a Birthday treat, I arranged for her to test a new Mercedes over a weekend. This is what I mean when I say make it real. (she started her own copywriting company two months later, and now drives a Mercedes SLK) this stuff REALLY works..

Affirmations.
Not quite, but close enough. Simply write down all of your wants in the form of a statement of intent, giving timescales, details of places etc. Let me share with you a little bit of mine.

“By my 36th Birthday, the 6th September 2012, I will have in excess of 3 million in my bank account, in return for which I will provide the best service and guidance that I possibly can..”

“….I believe I will have this money in my possession, my faith is so strong that I can see this money before my eyes, I can see myself living in my dream home in Tuscany with my dream car collection, being able to do what I choose, go anywhere I choose, and have anything I want….”

You get the idea? Good!

Looking over my example, you might be thinking that it sounds a bit greedy or conceited, but in the beginning so will yours, the point is to be perfectly honest with yourself stating what you REALLY want, not just what you think you want.

   What I dont understand is how youre not even more popular than you are now. Youre just so intelligent. You know so much about this subject, made me think about it from so many different angles. Its like people arent interested unless it has something to do with Lady Gaga! Your stuffs great. Keep it up!
